Keep calm and carry on toolbox

What can we do to balance our parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems?

It’s no secret the mind and body are totally connected. Ever get the jitters before a big game? The sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach with bad news? Butterflies before our first date?

What can we do to put on the brakes when the sympathetic nervous system takes over? You know the one responsible for fight or flight, the one responsible for cortisol, the stress hormone.

We need to engage our parasympathetic nervous system, the one responsible for putting on the brakes. We need to actively practice calm. Next line in my keep calm and carry on toolbox or utilize meditation, daily, gratitude, journaling, spending time in nature, deep breathing for vagus nerve stimulation.

Since our mind and our body are two entities responsible for our whole health, we need to actively practice taking care of both

It starts with you!
